Our story

Michaela, Richard and Daniel Black, with Darka, run the farm and the huts.

In 2009, days before he was due to join the army, Daniel was paralysed in a cycling accident. Joining the army had been his lifelong ambition.

Severe depression followed. In 2017 we moved to a small place with land and started keeping animals. The difference they've made to Daniel's mental health has been huge. He has since received a Pride of Britain award.

We've spent six years building the farm and caring for the animals. Now we want to share the peace of the valley. We hope every guest feels welcome, properly unwinds and goes home refreshed.
